NEW YEAR SING (AMENDED)

We look forward to bringing in the new year with a special musical event entitled New Year Sing. It will feature three of Saginaw’s singing preachers: Rev. Willie Casey (New Hope M.B Church), Rev. Joyce Redfearn (St. Luke C.M.E Church), and Rev. Dennis Laffoon (Bethel A.M.E Church). We will also have a combined choir that we are inviting you to participate in. Rehearsals will be Monday, November 19th at 6:30pm and Monday, December 10th at 6:30pm. Participants from all three churches and the greater Saginaw community are welcome to join us.

CLASS LEADERS COUNCIL

 Will meet on Saturday, November 17th at 10:00 a.m. Your attendance and participation is required as we begin this new Conference year. All class leaders who were consecrated in September should contact the pastor. Don’t forget, all reports are due.

THE SCOPE OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING

 Will be discussed at the Quality of Life Support Ministry of Zion Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 6th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 Noon in the Austin Fellowship Hall. The Speaker will be Allie Martinez of the Mid Michigan Human Trafficking Task Force. Various types of human trafficking will be discussed along with who is at risk, impact on the victims and resources available.

THE SAGINAW COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

 Is pleased to announce the availability of $700,000 in scholarships for students attending college (undergraduate or graduate) or vocational school in the Fall of 2019. The application opens on November 1st and the deadline is February 15, 2019. In addition to the usual scholarships, we are proud to offer scholarships for non-traditional students who have been out of school for more than two semesters or those that have never attended college and have decided to better their lives by getting a certificate or degree to improve their employment skills in the future.
